We went here for lunch and it was absolutely delicious!!! The buffet is a great value and the chicken and veal parm were delicious as well as the grouper. The apple pie was also amazing!! Cafe Toscano gets an A+ for me! We will definitely be back!

My family and I tried Cafe Toscano for the first time tonight. The food, atmosphere, and service were amazing! I would highly recommend this restaurant to others. The Grouper special and homemade deserts were delicious! Great place for Italian!

Great service, Good food, reasonable prices, and an atmosphere that is inviting and friendly. If you want a great dining experience that you will remember - try this place! The owner was attentive and accommodating and the server was great. I plan on becoming a regular for sure!

UPDATED 4-9-15: Review is from a visit a few months ago... apparently when they were still selling frozen pizzas... which they apparently don't serve anymore... (believe me, that's a plus for the guests!). I can't believe this place is allowed to operate. The food is nicely presented but after that I can't find anything positive to mention. The prosciutto tasted previously frozen, buffalo mozzarella was mushy and crumbly not at all what one would expect. The Chicago style pizza (no longer on the menu!), which was ordered as a "flatbread", was dry, over bread-y and disgusting, while the fried mozzarella was cooked well but still lacked seasoning. Everything tastes like it came from a frozen dinner package, thus way overpriced for the quality. Never again!

Food was awful. Owner was rude. And service not that great. The owner was standing outside the restaurant on the phone and when we entered he followed behind us and asked what we wanted. I asked when lunch ended and he stares at me blankly and says 5 so we asked about the lunch buffet. He hangs up the phone shows us the buffet which was spring mix, tomatoes, cucumbers and 4 entrees that didn't have signs on them. Then says they have soup so I lift up the lid to look at what kind and he grabs out from me and shuts it and says they are making it now. The food had way to much oil and butter in it and did not taste good at all. The best part was the salad. As we were leaving the owner was standing outside again and yelled at a server. Very rude owner and the door was left open so i was fighting the gnats off my food.

I have now been to Cafe Toscano 3 times in the past month and each time we have had one meal better than the last. Frank the owner/manager is quite a charmer. The service from the wine to dessert is just hard to beat. The food; the Lobster Special, the Grouper Toscano and let's not forget the Veal Chops are one of the best dishes we have had here in Florida. The desserts are also something not to pass up. I had the tira-me-su and I have never had something that good. Light and very inexpensive also describes Cafe Toscano. It is really worth the trip.

Appetizer portion of the shrimp cocktail was inadequate and chintzy. Ambiance and lighting were poor although the Opera singer was enjoyable but loud (go figure). Manager was uncooperative. We won't be back.

I have to say, it's a weird vibe and decor, and they were playing a full-on Christmas music station in February...food was mediocre typical Italian fare. Salads took 20 minutes to come out, then table bread came about 25 min after (stale). My 2-year old was going to eat my side of pasta as her meal and it came out 10-15 min after the adults got their food (she just ate our food and we boxed hers up). Cannoli filling tasted like whipped cream instead of ricotta/mascarpone cheese. Got the bill and saw the "Special" that the server described was $45 (It was veal, and overbreaded/fried). Now, I completely understand that we should have asked for the price to be sure, but the menu prices were in a completely different ballpark (~$20)...it was a bit of a shock. We paid and noticed the server mistakenly rang up a Heineken and and Iced tea on our tab as well. When I suggested they state the prices of specials when describing them, I was told that they "didn't give quotes at the table because it makes people uncomfortable." I could understand if you were at a 5 star restaurant on Palm Beach where that would be appropriate and high prices are expected, but you are in Village Commons shopping plaza. It just leaves the guest with a bad taste in their mouth and you are hurting yourself more than you are helping.

Place was terrible. Music was loud and awful. Lighting was annoying. Portions of food were laughable. Definitely won't be back EVER!!

Italian Cuisine

The immense popularity of Italian cuisine globally isn't unknown. You can find an Italian Pizzeria around every corner of almost every city in the United States. Not to forget that in every house, people enjoy mac and cheese as comfort food. But it would be wrong to believe that Italian food starts with pizza and ends with good pasta as this Mediterranean country has much more to offer other than these two dishes. In Italian Cuisine, there is a high use of fresh tomatoes, all kinds of herbs, great quality of cheese, all types of meat, seafood and fresh handmade pasta. Many find it hard to believe that Italians have been making noodles long back.

Italian and Greek cuisines are always mistaken to be same, but they are poles apart. The primary difference between the two cuisines is the use of cheese in most of the Italian dishes. Italians love to cultivate their own cheese and process them as per their food requirement. It is believed that some cheese is so expensive that cheese producers secure them in lockers.

If you are bored eating the same old pasta or pizza, you can try some of the authentic Italian dishes like Risotto, Polenta, Ribollita, Lasagna, Fiorentina Steak, Bottarga, Ossobuco, Carbonara, Focaccia, Arancini and Supplì. Another item which Italians love to relish every morning is a good cup of Italian Coffee. Once you taste a freshly brewed cup of Italian Coffee, you might not visit Starbucks ever again. Authentic Italian food is made with heart and soul, so go find a restaurant where you can relish Italian cuisine in your city.
